Product and Technical Information
Customization is key, as the Kelly boxes are made to customer specifications to ensure a perfect match with their existing equipment. The center shaft is available in outer diameters from 4 inches to 12 inches, with a solid shaft option provided for certain sizes to enhance the rigidity and performance of the auger.
The flights come in thicknesses ranging from 1 inch to 2 inches, and all flight inside diameters are beveled to guarantee superior weld penetration. For added durability, especially when dealing with larger diameters, laminate flight is a standard feature on all augers measuring 30 inches or more.
To protect against wear and tear, wear pads sized at 2 inches by 3 inches by ½ inch (part number 39302) are included, extending the lifespan of the auger under harsh drilling conditions.
The auger is also compatible with a variety of wear items for different drilling scenarios. For rocky environments, the rock option comprises a B47K19LK80-H tooth (part number 30182), a 38mm Tri-holder (part number 32064), and an RP-4 Machined Pilot (part number 40285). These components are specifically designed to withstand the rigors of penetrating tough rock formations.
For softer terrains, the dirt option includes teeth such as the BFZ 113×70/D (part number 34241) for standard dirt conditions and the BFZ 100×70/2 (part number 34172) for carbide-reinforced needs, both utilizing the same 38mm Tri-holder. The pilot for these applications is a 4-inch square JM 8-inch Dirt Pilot (part number 40260), ensuring accurate and stable drilling.
In essence, the 60″ Multi-Purpose Auger is a versatile and robust tool that can be tailored to the specific demands of a project, providing reliable performance across a spectrum of drilling operations. Whether for large-scale construction or specialized tasks, this auger is designed to deliver efficiency and longevity.
