Product and Technical Information
This auger is a Type 6 model, which comes with different cut options to cater to specific drilling needs: DC/DF (Double Cut/Double Flight), DC/SF (Double Cut/Single Flight), and SC/SF (Single Cut/Single Flight). These options allow for customization in terms of drilling speed and soil removal efficiency.
Key specifications of the 42″ Max Cut Multi-Purpose Auger include:
– Customizable Kelly boxes made to fit the specifications of the customer’s drilling rig.
– A center shaft with an outside diameter (OD) that ranges from 4 inches to 12 inches, with a solid shaft option available for certain sizes.
– Flight thickness options from 1 inch to 2 inches, providing the necessary strength for the drilling operation. All flight inside diameters (ID) are beveled to ensure better weld penetration, which enhances the durability of the auger.
– Laminated flight on all augers that are 30 inches or larger, adding an extra layer of strength to withstand the stresses of drilling.
For wear protection, the auger is equipped with wear pads sized at 2 inches by 3 inches by ½ inch (part number 39302), which help to extend the life of the auger in abrasive conditions.
The wear items for the auger are divided into rock and dirt options, allowing for targeted performance in different substrates:
Rock Option:
– Tooth: B47K19LK80-H (30182), suitable for rock drilling applications.
– Holder: 38mm Tri-holder (32064), designed to hold the rock teeth securely.
– Pilot: RP-4 Machined Pilot (40285), which provides accurate drilling guidance.
Dirt Option:
– Tooth: BFZ 113×70/D (34241) for dirt and BFZ 100×70/2 (34172) for enhanced cutting and wear resistance with carbide.
– Holder: 38mm Tri-holder (32064), which is compatible with the dirt teeth.
– Pilot: 4” SQ JM 8” Dirt Pilot (40260) and 8” Dirt Pilot (40260), both designed to optimize performance when drilling in soil.
The 42″ Max Cut Multi-Purpose Auger is engineered to offer high performance and durability for drilling projects that require precision and efficiency in both rock and dirt conditions.
